Kitaru Environmental Policy

At Kitaru, we recognize that environmental sustainability is not only a responsibility but also a core part of our mission. We are committed to reducing our environmental impact and continuously improving our operations to align with best practices in sustainability. Our initiatives focus on sourcing, waste management, and fostering eco-conscious practices across the value chain. Below are the key components of our environmental policy:

Sustainable Sourcing

  • Partnering with the Forest Ministry to ensure all wood is legally obtained, with full transparency of origins.

  • Prioritizing materials from responsibly managed forests in East Kalimantan and Central Java.

  • Offering quality materials that promote sustainable construction methods.

Waste Management Systems

  • Wood Offcuts Repurposing: Partnering with a designer to create large furniture pieces and decor items from wood offcuts.

  • Home Decor Partnership: Collaborating with i-rewood to utilize leftover materials for home décor items.

  • Sawdust Recycling: Reusing fine sawdust in our glue mixtures and exploring partnerships with industries to repurpose other unusable small materials.

Carbon Offset Programs

  • Actively collaborating with Friends of the National Parks Foundation (FNPF) to support reforestation efforts and replant trees, compensating for the carbon emissions generated by our operations.

Client Education

  • Sharing knowledge and promoting sustainable building practices through occasional blog articles, enabling clients to incorporate eco-conscious methods into their own projects.

At Kitaru, we strive to lead by example, offering premium, ethically sourced materials while actively working to reduce waste, offset carbon emissions, and promote sustainability. By continuously improving our practices, we aim to build a more sustainable future for the construction industry and beyond.
