Background

Established with a vision to provide premium-quality lumber and emphasize transparency in sourcing, Kitaru has grown into a trusted supplier for professionals in the construction and design industries. Unlike many suppliers, Kitaru prioritizes a balance of affordability, sustainability, and high-grade materials, offering both reclaimed and non-reclaimed wood options. Our goal is to empower projects with ethically sourced materials while promoting sustainable construction practices through quality products and high-end hardware partnerships.

Scope and Infrastructure

Kitaru operates a 2020 sqm workshop, including a 64 sqm office and showroom. The workshop serves as a storage facility, showroom, and operational hub:

  • Storage Facilities: Decay-resistant woods are stored outdoors, while more delicate indoor woods are kept in covered areas.

  • Processing Partnerships: Collaborations with specialized factories enable Kitaru to deliver customized wood profiles.

  • High-End Hardware: Partnerships with brands like Rothoblaas enhance the quality of materials used in construction projects.

Sourcing Practices

Kitaru sources its wood primarily from East Kalimantan and Central Java, ensuring legal and ethical compliance through close collaboration with the forest ministry. Transparency is at the core of our operations, with origin pictures and forest ministry certificates provided for every shipment.

Products and Specialization

Kitaru offers a diverse range of products, including raw lumber, processed wood, and bespoke options for cladding, flooring, and more. While reclaimed materials are available, the focus extends to high-quality non-reclaimed woods, emphasizing durability and export-grade processing standards.
